John's Driving School offers classroom hours from 6 to 9 pm Monday thru Thursday and Saturday mornings during the Winter months.

Summer classroom hours are 9 to 12 mornings Mon. thru Fri and 6 to 9 Evenings Mon. Thru Thursday. No Friday Nights.

Classroom training includes 10 3-hour lessons. You can start class the day you sign up and take the remaining classes as it is convenient for you. Attend the nine training classes in any order followed by a pretest self study session. You can be done in as little as 2 weeks or in 6 months, whatever fits your schedule. No need to be here 10 days in a row like other Driving Schools. John's wants you to be a qualified driver. You will know all the materials needed.

Pass your exam and be driving in 2 weeks.
Pay As You Go
We offer the pay as you go program, $99 is due at sign up of first lesson, payable in Cash , Check or Credit Card. When you finish your 10th lesson, you will pay $100 for your certificate of enrollment in the behind the wheel training known as the blue card. This will be explained to you at enrollment. The blue card is required in order to take the Minnesota written permit test.

Adult lessons available to fit adult work schedules. Adult lessons are only $100.00 for 2 hours with a certified instructor in our specially equipped cars. Use our cars for your test.

John's Driving School: How 2 Get Your License
  1. Complete classroom training of 10 sessions of 3 hours each in any order.
  2. Enroll in Behind the Wheel training Program and be 15 years old.
  3. Go to MN Dept. of Public Safety testing station, pass the written permit test and pay your state fees.
  4. Now you are ready to drive with a 21 or over licensed driver and get 30 to 40 hours of practice.
  5. Take your 1st Behind the Wheel 2 hour lesson within 2 months of obtaining your permit. Call John's and set up a convenient time to do your 1st lesson. John's will pick you up at school, work or your home.
  6. Practice what you have learned.
  7. Schedule two more 2 hour lessons with John's driving instructors to complete your required 6 hours of instructor training. Certificate of Completion (White Card) will be given when required hours are completed.
  8. Practice at least 30 hours of driving with your licensed driver.
  9. Make an appointment to take your Driving Examination. You're ready!
